That’s what my facebook profile says, and I have a certificate too! (And I got paid!)
Bloody Cool right…!!!
This is the best thing I got from my education in Delhi University…apart from my amazing friends I mean. A chance to work for Channel V-not just any work-to perform for them-to create for them!
I still remember that day when I went to give my auditions. We sneaked into the auditorium in our Chitrangada rehearsal break and auditions for acting and dancing were on the run. I was given the song Roshni Se and one guy stood in the centre stage, and I was told to seduce him with my dancing, but I can’t touch him (why would I??).
Well, that was it! I got selected!
Roshni Se (Asoka) and Hai Rama (Rangeela) in the 1st year!
Buttons (PCD), Throw It On Me (Timbaland), and Like A G6 (Far East Movement) in my 2nd year!
Maula Mere Maula (Anwar), Rasiya (Kurbaan), and Mausam and Escape (Slumdog Millionaire) in my 3rd year!
We also performed for the Reebok promotions campaign for their RealFlex shoes (Though we didn’t get a pair!) And I also had a chance to do an on the spot face off (something I had watched only in movies.)
The perks were meeting the cast of Dil Dosti Dance (the best youth show at that time) and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (the highest TRP show of Star Plus at that time) (Not that these things matter but just to mention). You know right what that means - I met two HOT guys of the industry - Kunwar Amar (he's a dancer so he has to be hot) n Barun Sobti (well he's just super hot!). And then I met Shakti Mohan n Alisha Singh - fantastic dancers...eeee!
As a token of appreciation (I am guessing), we were given a book – The Guide by R.K. Narayan. On the first page was written,
To Ankita Bora
The Sexy Danceaholic
Your dance is autobiography in motion!
Always keep dancing!
Channel V – Bloody Cool
